Video 010 Overcoming unknown-hidden blocking beliefs

Use this solution

When you suspect that a blocking belief is holding up processing but you’re unclear what that blocking belief is.  Use the blocking belief questionnaire to identify the block. Then, use the standard protocol to remove the block.

However, when the block is identified, it’s worth first trying the simple methods described in Video 009.  For the most difficult/complex blocks, the standard EMDR protocol is likely to work best, as in this video.

Originator

We first came across the blocking belief questionnaire through Dr Jim Knipe who developed it for use with EMDR.

What this covers

Case of a middle aged man who was raped as a young teenager.  He has never sought therapy until recently, but is getting very distressing flashbacks.  This early experience appears to have had a profound effect on his life: never married, something of a loner, buried himself in work (he is a successful small business owner).
