Beginnings

EMDR Gateway was established in 2018 to provide therapists with practical, clinically focused training through short, highly targeted videos.

The idea grew out of Sally and Richard Worthing Davies’s extensive Consultation/Supervision work, where they found themselves repeatedly explaining complex EMDR interventions remotely. Written guidance alone was often not enough—what was needed was a clear demonstration of how therapy actually works in practice.

From this came the vision: a library of concise videos showing real therapeutic interventions, enabling therapists to see exactly how to apply EMDR with confidence.

Building a Team

As the idea developed, a team was formed bringing together decades of EMDR clinical experience.

This collective expertise ensures that every video remains grounded in real clinical work—practical, relevant, and immediately applicable.

Our Purpose

EMDR Gateway exists to make high-quality, practical EMDR training accessible to therapists, helping them respond effectively to the wide range of challenges they encounter in clinical practice. Each video demonstrates a specific protocol through role play, supported by key takeaways and step-by-step guidance that can be used immediately.

A Longstanding Commitment to Humanitarian Work

From the very beginning, EMDR Gateway has been closely aligned with Trauma Aid UK, a British charity founded by Sian Morgan in 2009, dedicated to bringing EMDR training and therapy to some of the most trauma-affected regions of the world.

This commitment was embedded in the original model:

  • A proportion of all income was shared with the charity

  • Full access to the video library was provided to support overseas training programmes

This meant that, from the outset, every subscription helped extend EMDR beyond the therapy room—reaching communities where trauma care is most needed.

Now Owned and Managed by Trauma Aid UK

EMDR Gateway is now fully owned and managed by Trauma Aid UK.

This marks an important step forward: the platform is now a dedicated fundraising initiative, with all proceeds directly supporting humanitarian work. Income from subscriptions helps deliver EMDR training, supervision, and therapy in regions affected by conflict, disaster, and adversity.

By subscribing, you are:

  • Strengthening your own clinical practice

  • Supporting the global delivery of EMDR training

  • Helping build sustainable trauma services in underserved communities

Continuing the Vision

While ownership has evolved, the original vision remains unchanged: to provide therapists with clear, practical solutions to real clinical challenges through high-quality video learning.

What has changed is the scale of impact. Today, EMDR Gateway not only supports therapists—it also directly contributes to global trauma recovery.

Under the management of Trauma Aid UK, EMDR Gateway will continue to expand its library and reach, strengthening both clinical practice and humanitarian impact.
