Pain, the brain and healing with EMDR

Sponsored by the Wales Regional Group

Venue: Llyswen Village Hall, in Llyswen, near Brecon, LD3 0LJ. Parking outside the hall or in Boughrood village 5 minutes walk from hall.

Subject: Healing Pain with EMDR – what you need to know about pain, the brain and treatment!  You will explore:

Two radically new perspectives on:

·       How and where pain is created, and its meaning/purpose

·       The brain as a ‘predictive machine’ that modulates pain according to sensory inputs, imaginal reframing, and creating changes in context

·       The importance of the therapeutic relationship in the treatment of pain.

How these new perspectives help explain how EMDR and sensori-motor interventions lead to healing of acute and chronic pain.

Three CPD Points awarded by the EMDR UK Association

The Presenters: Two highly experienced therapists and consultants: Marilyn Tew & Richard Worthing-Davies. See below.
